Most cases of bad breath originate in your mouth
so your diet can certainly effect your breath.
Onions and garlic are common suspects of bad
breath odors, but other foods can also lead to bad breath. Be careful with spicy
foods, their odor can stay with you for hours. These include anchovies, blue
cheese, pastrami, pepperoni, Roquefort cheese, salami, and tuna as these all
leave oils in the mouth. Smoking and alcohol will also cause you problems with
your breath.
You also want to be sure to get plenty of fluids.
A dry mouth is a good environment for bacteria to flourish and cause bad breath.
Poor kidney function is another problem so plenty of fluids may help your
kidneys function better as well.
Many people on the Atkins diet are now reporting
problems with bad breath so low carb diets may also be a factor.
