Heartburn Diet

Heartburn or Acid Reflux is generally caused by an irritation of the lower esophagus. Many times your diet is a great place to start looking for a culprit. Your Lower Esophageal Sphincter can be effected by the foods we eat. Other factors may be how and when we eat.

The following items are commonly thought to contribute to heartburn.  It is often recommended that you monitor your intake or avoid them completely.

-Coffee, Tea or other caffeine products

-Fried or Fatty foods

-Spicy Foods

-Tomato Based Foods

-Chocolate

-Citrus Fruits and Juices

-Tobacco

-Alcohol

-Large meals

-Eating just before bed

-Wearing tight fitting clothes
