Yogurt and Bad Breath

Japanese researchers have recently reported that there seems to be a positive effect on bad breath from eating yogurt.

It is commonly accepted that trapped food particles in your mouth and it's decay, causes a foul odor. Appearently, yogurt has the ability to counteract some of the problems associated with the bacterial activity in your mouth.

The study seems to have been quite small in scope, but the researchers also claim that yogurt could have a positive effect on your gums as well. It seems as though a little yogurt may go along way to better oral hygiene and fresh breath.

Severe Snoring

Severe snoring can be more serious than just a major annoyance. Snoring in it's most severe form can be sleep apnea. The word 'apnea' in Greek means 'without breathe'.

Those that suffer from sleep apnea associated with snoring (OSA- obstructive sleep apnea) literally stop breathing momentarily and then start again abruptly.

This can happen hundreds of times a night and be quite detrimental to your health. This is caused when the soft tissue of your throat collapses and your airway is completely restricted.

This should be taken seriously and you should consult a physician and/or look for natural solutions.

Heartburn Explained

Heartburn or Acid Reflux is generally caused by stomach acids finding there way back up into the esophagus. At the base of the esophagus where it meets the stomach, you have a sphincter (or lower esophageal sphincter- LES), that acts like a one way valve.

This valve allows foods and drinks coming from your mouth, through the esophagus and into your stomach, but prevents your stomach contents from finding their way back into your esophagus.

The most common cause of heartburn occurs when the LES doesn't do it's job, and allows acids from your stomach back into the esophagus, causing pain and irritation or HEARTBURN.

2. Mentally you are not as sharp and can feel ran down and emotionally drained.
3. Daytime sleepiness and an unclear thought process.
4. Always drained of energy, making you want to avoid exercise and activities that lead to a healthier lifestyle.
5. Slower reactions. Driving or operating equipment is more risky.
6. Moody and less desirable to be around, possibly leading to low self esteem or relationship problems.
